Elizabeth “Beth” Tracewell, a Columbus native, was an artist from early childhood.  Her works, comprised of systematic applications of predetermined colors, in bold geographic patterns, became points of instant recognition by Open Door art aficionados.  Beth would apply one color at a time, rarely deviating from an originally established order.  This signature technique would result in works filled with bight patterns of blocked color, reminiscent of planes of land.  Beth’s artistic talents were only matched by her sweet nature.  She was a favorite among Open Door staff and extremely close to her family.  Her memory will forever live on through her works and those who were touched by them.

“I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people”
